This is an advice and opinion blog dedicated to venture capital and entrepreneurship. The focus is on topics relevant to CEOs and founders rather than the lay person. My hope is to give entrepreneurs, and other people associated with early stage companies, a perspective on how the "money people" think and behave - and why.

Not sure if this is a question looking for an answer, but in my humble opinion it is a product of the general market sentiment and lack of willingness to look past the impact of the oncoming recession. As indicated by the hammering RIMM and AAPL both took when suggesting slightly bleaker than expected forecasts, investors are irrationally squeamish about the future. Although this phenomenon is likely to continue as long as the equity markets remain under the pressure of uncertain economic forecasts, I am optimistic the innovation we are seeing in social-media, green tech and other sectors will produce significant monetization events in the next few years...or so I hope.
